FreeDV Project

On Wednesday, March 13th, 2024 at 7:00PM, the Delaware Valley Radio Association’s monthly membership meeting featured a presenation by Mooneer Salem, K6AQ titled, “FreeDV Project”.

In person monthly meetings are held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 W Upper Ferry Rd, Ewing Township, NJ 08628 (Driving Directions). For the convenience of our members, these meetings are also hosted on Zoom. Members will receive an email with instructions on how to join the Zoom teleconference. Members of the public are invited to request conference credentials by sending a message to webmaster@w2zq.com.

Mooneer Salem (K6AQ) has been a ham since the early 2000s. Mooneer is a software engineer by trade specializing in medical devices, and has helped develop and maintain the FreeDV project since 2020. He has contributed code to and developed several other open source projects, including a Web based magnetic loop controller and to Winlink.

When not developing software, Mooneer typically monitors 14.236 MHz for FreeDV traffic or other digital modes such as FT8 or JS8Call.

Our monthly meetings are open to the public. Feel free to join for all or part of each meeting.
