We have been successful in the ARRL EME contests in the past and we are looking to do even better this year.
Last year, we came in third worldwide in the multi operator all bands category with a score of 5,886,000 behind K5QE (SK) who had a score of 7,924,800 and UA5Y who had a score of 8,140,500. The contesters last year were AD2CC, K1JT, K2TXB, K2UYH, K2WWF, K3DFD, KB2MT, N3BEV, NE2U, and W2HRO.
Now that we have more experience and a better setup, we are looking to do better. This year, we are considering competing in the multi operator single band category. The 15′ dish might even be up and operating by the second weekend. We do have the new higher power linear amp nevertheless.
The ARRL EME contest this year for the 50 to 1296 MHz frequencies is on the weekends of October 19-20, 2024 and November 16-17 2024. There will be a sign up sheet, look for it.
There will also be a training session on October 10 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm at the club shack. It’s a chance to refresh your skills. Come if you are planning to participate in the contest.
