On Wednesday, June 12th at 7:00PM, the Delaware Valley Radio Association’s monthly membership meeting featured a presentation on the “CW Academy”, given by Joe Spencer, KK5NA.
In person monthly meetings are held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 W Upper Ferry Rd, Ewing Township, NJ 08628 (Driving Directions). For the convenience of our members, these meetings are also hosted on Zoom. Members will receive an email with instructions on how to join the Zoom teleconference. Members of the public are invited to request conference credentials by sending a message to webmaster@w2zq.com.
DVRA has many CW operators and CW enthusiasts. We have an in-house course given by Cliff (WA2TMF). Additionally, some members have taken advantage of the CW Academy courses to further enhance their skills and recommended it to other members. CW Academy is part of the CWops club, an organization dedicated to preserving and furthering the CW art. In this month’s meeting, we are going to hear from Joe Spencer (KK5NA), CW Academy advisor and teacher and a CWOps member.
Joe holds a degree in electronics engineering, he is a US Navy veteran and a retired Network Manager. He has been a ham since 1994 and has taught over 50 CW classes for the CW Academy since 2016. He will introduce us to CWOps in general and CW Academy specifically, their track record, success rate and how our club members can take advantage of the resources of the organization to learn CW or improve their CW skills.
Our monthly meetings are open to the public. Feel free to join for all or part of each meeting.
