Antenna Construction Event – 6 Meter Moxon  

The Antenna committee will hold an construction event on Saturday May 11th, 2024 at 10am at the W2ZQ station.  We will discuss, design, and construction techniques for Moxon beam antennas.  This will be followed by the construction and testing of an antenna that will be used for Field Day.

DVRA members participate in Girl Scout Daisies “Thinking Day On The Air” event

On the afternoon of February 16, DVRA members Tobi AD2CD, Bob K3EDP and Bob KB3BB participated in a Girl Scout Daisies “Thinking Day on the Air” event at the Cranbury Public Library. The event drew eight Daisies, ages six and seven, several parents and leader Delpha Georges, who initiated, led and organized the event.

ASSEMBLING A HOME STATION SEMINAR – Held on February 24th at W2ZQ

On February 24th the DVRA held a seminar on building your own home station.  Beginners and seasoned hams were welcomed.

The seminar included a review of available equipment, useful accessories and antenna ideas.  Setup and construction info, tips and tricks were also presented.

Ham Radio Operation By Remote Control: Overview & Demo Held at W2ZQ Station on Jan. 27th

Nine members came out to the W2ZQ station at 10 AM on Saturday, January 27th as Bob Bowden KB3BB provided an overview of five different methods currently available for operating Amateur radio at a distance.

He concluded with a live demo, remotely operating his home station in Pennsylvania.

DVRA Mobile Fox Hunt Report – Wrapping up the 2023 Season

The DVRA held its final fox hunt of the 2023 season on December 2nd.  The hunters gathered at the Chapin School amongst fog that socked in the Princeton Area.  At nine o’clock the fox was activated, and the event was underway.
