DVRA awarded Grant from Amateur Radio Digital Communications

The Delaware Valley Radio Association (DVRA) is happy to announce that it has been awarded a grant from Amateur Radio Digital Communications (ARDC), a private foundation that supports and promotes amateur radio. The grant will allow DVRA to install a large 15-ft. (4.57 meter) dish antenna at its W2ZQ station.

The installation will include a foundation, mount, equipment cabinet and precision tracking system, and will take approximately six months to complete. The new dish will be a significant upgrade to DVRA’s existing 1296 MHz moon bounce communications capability, and will also allow observations of the Sun, radio galaxies, and pulsars. It will also enhance DVRAs public engagement and support for local university students.

Watch this space in future months for updates and announcements about the project.
